Verlys 13" Bowl
$349.99
Verlys glass originated in France in 1931 as an Art Deco line from Holophane, combining "verre" (glass) and "Les Andelys," its production site, known for layered, acid-etched glass with internal designs, often opalescent, rivaling Lalique. A US subsidiary, Verlys of America, began producing its own designs from 1935, using some French molds and new ones by American artists like Carl Schmitz, in colors like amber, blue, and rose. Production shifted from French-made to American-made after WWII, with molds eventually passing through Heisey and then Fenton Art Glass, which revived some items, though original French and American pieces remain highly collectible.
